At a former manufactured gas plant in White Plains, New York, areal jet grouting was performed as an alternative to soil mixing for the in situ solidification of soils contaminated with coal tar. Contaminants of concern included polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene.
