Working with non-profit organizations in the local community has long been an important part of the Moretrench company culture. Employees regularly participate in and support fundraising efforts. Last week, this support came in the form of a food drive for the Interfaith Food Pantry, a charitable organization providing food and groceries to those in need in Morris County, NJ. “The summer months are especially tough for the food pantry,” notes Joanne Muccione, Moretrench’s  Human Resources Generalist. “Less donations are coming in as clubs take their summer breaks and families go on vacation.” Employees from the Rockaway office and from Moretrench subsidiary Ground/Water Treatment & Technology stepped up to help, collecting 2,375 pounds of food in just five days.

A hand Up for the Homeless

In addition to participating in the food drive, volunteers from the Moretrench’s office and shop also spent time last week at Furnishing Solutions, an affiliate of Homeless Solutions, to help with moving donated furniture from storage to the organization’s store front for sale.

The mission of Homeless Solutions is to care for the homeless, provide essential services, and assist them in moving from shelter to independent housing. For more information, please visit homelesssolutions.org.
