Moretrench’s Joe Sopko Honored by Michigan State University

Moretrench is pleased to announce that Director of Ground Freezing Joseph A. Sopko, Ph.D., P.E. has been  recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by  the College of  Engineering, MSU.  Joe received a Bachelor of Science (1980), a Master of Science (1983) and a Ph.D. (1990) in Civil Engineering from MSU and has dedicated his career to specializing in ground freezing technology.  He joined Moretrench in 2010, and has been instrumental in growing the company’s established ground freezing  market to also include Canada and South America.

The formal presentation was made on May 7th, 2016 by Thomas F. Wolff,  Chairman of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.   As part of the award, Joe joined the faculty at the commencement  ceremony the following day.  The occasion was made even more special when  he was privileged to present his son, Joseph A. Sopko, III, with his B. S. diploma in Chemical Engineering.  “This was a great honor for me, my family and Moretrench,” notes Joe.  “Proud to see the family line of Spartans continue.”
