Moretrench’s Paul Schmall Awarded Ph. D in Civil Engineering

Moretrench is very pleased to announce that Vice President and Chief Engineer, Paul C. Schmall, P.E., has been awarded a Doctorate of  Philosophy in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK. The University of Nottingham is internationally recognized as a leading research university and in 2012/2013 was placed in the top 1% of all universities worldwide by QS World University Rankings.

Dr. Schmall received his Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University in 1988 and joined Moretrench the same year. He is recognized in the industry as an expert in grouting, groundwater control and ground freezing, and regularly shares his experience with the engineering community through frequent seminar presentations and short courses. He is a co-author of the third edition of Construction Dewatering and Groundwater Control, published in 2007 and acknowledged as a definitive text. He is also a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and in 2009 was accepted into the Academy of Geo-Professionals, an affiliate of ASCE.
