Moretrench recently hosted West Point engineering major Cadet Shirley Albritton at the Rockaway, NJ headquarters for a two-week introduction to the company's specialty geotechnical work. Cadet Albritton was selected to participate in the United States Military Academy's Academic Individual Advanced Development (IAID) program, where cadets have the opportunity to work alongside public sector and private industry leaders during the summer, applying what they have learned in the classroom to real engineering and research problems.
Under the guidance of Vice President Greg Ziegler, himself a West Point graduate, Cadet Albritton visited multiple jobs sites to see various underground construction methods at work and undertook a range of tasks related to current ground freezing projects. "It makes me very proud to see that we are producing graduates of her caliber," said Ziegler. " We were very impressed with Cadet Albritton, so much so that our President, Art Corwin, would like to make this program a Moretrench tradition."
